Cost effective solutions delivered on time and to budget
Gussets (capacity), gloss lamination and interlocking flaps fancy an inexpensive yet sexy looking folder, or one that doesn’t do the job justice?
Folders can be a potential nightmare in the wrong hands. It struck me some time ago that this simple business commodity is probably the one overlooked item that every business needs and uses - and is one product in which we have become a specialist supplier in. Looking through our files and print samples we realised we must have done every kind of folder imaginable over the last 20 years, so why not share this insight and experience and put it to good use?
It has been said that often what customers want and what they need are two different things. Looking back it amazed us just how true this statement is and just how easy it is to get this wrong - by not looking at all the options and getting the detail right upfront. The check-list below just goes to show the type of service we offer and the detail we could cover in order to ensure your job runs smoothly...
Folders... what size, quality, material and quantity do you want? Or do you prefer the price per unit route? Size A4 OK or A4 plus, and is a gusset, capacity or spine required? (They all mean the same thing actually.) Litho, screen or digitally printed? What stock, coated or uncoated and what weight in gsm would you prefer? (I could recommend 300 to 350gsm nobody has ever complained that it is too thick!) What is the most and least you would put in a folder? Inserts, leaflets, flyers or base sheets I mean. Do you want a glued flap or an interlocking mechanism that allows you to flat pack them which saves on costs and storage? Or can you manage to store 150 boxes if you go for the glued flap with say a 5mm capacity? Do you want spot colours (Pantone), full colour (CMYK), any specials, 5th colour maybe, embossing, finishing, matt (or gloss) lamination and maybe a spot UV varnish option for good measure perhaps? The list goes on but, with the right advice, it’s all good stuff to know and isn’t difficult to demonstrate either. Again all these factors are backed with our optional design and digital artwork services...
We can also let you have some of our precious samples if you promise to send them back. Oh, and before I forget, don’t ignore the recent Royal Mail guidelines. Large mailings of A4 can now cost a bob or two more, so you might want to consider an A5 folder instead!
